Ebrington hotel device was sent by post, police confirm
Investigators say responsibility remains unconfirmed after Tuesday’s security alert.
PSNI has confirmed that the viable device sent to a hotel in Ebrington was a postal device.
The update, issued on 28 October, follows the security alert in Derry/Londonderry the previous day.
Police say the investigation is at an early stage and officers are keeping an open mind about responsibility. Possible dissident-republican involvement is one line of enquiry, rather than an established finding.
The police operation continued from Tuesday afternoon until close to midnight, according to the update.
Anyone with relevant information can contact police using reference 1089 of 27/10/26.
