Fog warning until 10am, with sunny spells expected later
Dense fog could disrupt Tuesday morning journeys, particularly in western Northern Ireland; the wider forecast is dry with light winds.
A yellow fog warning is in force until 10am on Tuesday 3 November. The Met Office says locally dense patches could reduce visibility below 100 metres, particularly in western Northern Ireland.
Longer road, bus and rail journeys are possible, along with flight delays or cancellations. Travellers should check conditions and their operator's updates before leaving.
The warning was issued at 3.48am and is valid from that time until 10am. Its affected-authority list includes all six Northern Ireland counties, while the detailed warning highlights western areas.
The separate regional forecast, issued at 4am, expects morning mist and fog to clear gradually as sunshine develops from the west. Conditions should stay dry with light winds and a regional maximum of 12°C.
Most places are forecast to remain dry tonight. Clear spells and light winds could allow frost and fog patches to form again, chiefly in rural areas, with a regional minimum of 2°C.
