Fire crews attended 89 incidents during seven-hour Halloween period
Figures published by the fire service on Sunday include 23 bonfire-related incidents between Saturday evening and the early hours of Sunday.
Northern Ireland fire crews responded to 89 operational incidents between 6pm on Saturday 31 October and 1am on Sunday 1 November, according to figures published by Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service.
The service said 23 incidents involved bonfires. These figures cover a specific seven-hour period during Halloween celebrations, rather than the whole weekend.
NIFRS also reported six incidents in which fireworks were directed at crews in Kilkeel, Drumquin and Enniskillen. It said no firefighters were injured and no damage was sustained, allowing its operational response to continue. Its statement does not give an overall figure for injuries among members of the public.
