Icy roads expected in the west as overnight salting is planned

Icy conditions are expected on some roads in western Northern Ireland this evening and overnight, according to a TrafficWatchNI update issued at 2.37pm.

Salting is planned on the main routes considered most likely to be affected. Drivers are advised to take particular care on untreated roads.

Department for Infrastructure engineers will continue monitoring weather and road-surface conditions and may arrange further salting if required. The advisory does not say that every road in the west will be treated.
